SANA'A, May 06 (Saba) - Yemen and World Bank (WB) discussed here on Sunday the ongoing arrangements for the meeting of Yemen friends in Riyadh at the end of May and for donors meeting for Yemen as well.

This came in a meeting brought together Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa and WB executive director for Yemen Mirza Hassan.

During the meeting, Basindwa and Hassan reviewed the effective role the bank can play in both meetings, in addition to a number of topics related to the mutual relations.

The premier hailed the WB's resumption of development aid to Yemen and the opening of its country office in Sana'a.

He pointed to the national reconciliation government' efforts to overcome the last year's crisis's aftermaths and the importance of mobilizing international aid to support the government currently to fulfill the transition period requirements.

For his part, WB executive director asserted the bank's keenness to provide all possible assistance support to help Yemen to tackle the transitional period's challenges.
