SANA'A, April 28 (Saba) - Yemen and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reviewed here on Saturday the arrangements for the Yemen friends meeting to be hosted by the Saudi capital Riyadh in the coming May.
This came in a meeting gathered Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammad al-Sa'adi and the newly appointed United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) resident representative in Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
Al-Sa'adi and Ahmed also dealt with the preparations for a meeting between the government and donors to be convened next Wednesday at the Ministry to discuss the high level partnership strategy between Yemen and its development partners.
They discussed several issues related to bilateral cooperation between Yemen and the Programme, particularly the UNDP institutional support programs to develop the institutional structure at the Planning Ministry and other ministries.
At the meeting, the Minister welcomed the new UNDP resident representative, expressing his appreciation for the role played by UNDP in support of the development paths and institutional structure in Yemen.
For his part, Ahmed voiced UNDP's readiness to provide all aspects of technical and logistic support to help the Yemeni government to encounter the various economic challenges in Yemen, praising the existing level of cooperation between Yemen and UNDP.
