Turkey desires to invest in Yemen's fish

SANA'A, April 23 (Saba) - Yemen and Turkey discussed here on Monday the bilateral cooperation relations in fishery areas.

This came in a meeting gathered Minister of Fisheries Wealth Awadh al-Socatri and Turkish Ambassador to Yemen Fazli Corman, who asserted the importance of activating the memorandum of understanding signed between Yemen and Turkey.

At the meeting, Fisheries Minister expressed the ministry's desire to benefit from the Turkish experience in the fields of training and fishery research and studies.

He pointed that the Fisheries Ministry in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) would achieve the national strategy of fisheries sector development.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador voiced his country's keenness to strengthen relations of cooperation with Yemen, expressing his country's desire to invest in the fishery field in Yemen.

Corman stressed the importance of concerting the international efforts to reduce the phenomenon of maritime piracy on fishermen.
