Yemen, Germany discuss preparations for Yemen friends meeting

SANA'A, April 23 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi met here on Monday Head of the Middle East Division at the German Foreign Ministry Markus Potzel, who is visiting Yemen currently.

During the meeting, al-Qirbi and Potzel discussed the ongoing preparations for Yemen friends meeting to be held on 23 May in Riyadh, as well as the cooperation relations between the two friendly countries.

At the meeting, the Foreign Minister stressed the need of the Yemen friends meeting to come out with a comprehensive program to assist Yemen in all political, economic, development and security fields.

For his part, the German official said that the visit aimed to follow up the outcomes of the recent German Foreign Minister's visit to Yemen and to prop up the underway efforts to launch the comprehensive national dialogue in Yemen and the requirements of the second transitional phase of the Gulf initiative.
