Interior Minister, UN envoy discuss security issues
[22/April/2012]

SANA'A, April 22 (Saba) - Interior Minister Abdul-Qader Qahtan discussed here on Sunday with UN envoy to Yemen Jamal bin Omar several security issues.

The minister reviewed the efforts to restore the security and stability, remove the tension sources, as well as the achievements in carrying out the security protection plan in the capital, stressing the desire of the ministry's leadership to ensure the implementation of all security-related items stipulated in the Gulf initiative.

Qahtan valued highly the role played by the UN envoy to Yemen in the political settlement in Yemen in all stages, either before or after signing the initiative.

For his part, Omar asserted the international community's keenness on the security and stability of Yemen, and its full support for the President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi's decisions and efforts to stabilize the country.
