Yemeni forces kill 32 al-Qaeda militants

ABYAN, April 21 (Saba)- The Defense Ministry said on Friday evening that the army forces killed 32 al-Qaeda-linked militants during violent clashes in Lawdar town in the southern province of Abyan since Thursday.

In a statement posted on its website, the ministry said that the army forces have been made great advances towards Zinjibar town in Abyan and managed to rout the militants and evict them from an area located near Zinjibar.

The clashes left 18 fatalities and dozens of injured among the ranks of the terrorist group on Friday in addition to 14 militants who were killed by the Yemeni forces last night.

It added that two soldiers were killed and seven others injured in the ongoing fighting in Abyan.
