Transitional justice draft law tied up, Legal Affairs Minister says
[18/April/2012]

SANA'A, April 18 (Saba) - The technical team has put the final touches to the transitional justice draft law, Legal Affairs Minister Mohammed al-Mikhlafi said on Wednesday.

During his meeting with ambassador of the Netherlands Leonie Kyulenyer, al-Mikhlafi said that the transitional justice draft law was referred to the concerned ministerial committee for approval, which would be submitted later to the cabinet.

The minister briefed the Dutch ambassador on the efforts the Ministry has made to draft the law, saying that many political parties, civil social organizations, unions and youths have taken part in the discussions that led to the draft.

For her part, Ms. Kyulenyer praised the Ministry role in involving the community in drafting the transitional justice law, accenting the continued support for the ministry's efforts in harmonizing laws with international legislations.

She emphasized that the Netherlands and the European Union (EU) would support the Yemeni people to build a democratic state and combat terrorism.
