SANA'A, April 18 (Saba) - Yemen and the U.S. discussed here on Wednesday the security bilateral cooperation and coordination, particularly in counterterrorism area.

This came in a meeting brought together Interior Minister Abdul-Qader Qahtan and US ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein and the US technical team.

The US technical team briefed the minister on the outcomes of its meetings with the military subcommittee in charge of restructure the armed and security forces and its requirements as well as the set timeframe to be carried out.

During the meeting, Qahtan reviewed the security and military units' efforts in battling al-Qaeda and the related achievements, praising the US support in this regard.

The US ambassador stressed his country would continue to back Yemen in fighting terrorism to achieve the Yemeni people's aspirations of security, stability and comprehensive development.
