SANA'A, April 17 (Saba) - The government approved Tuesday forming a ministerial committee to draft a law on establishing an independent national authority for human rights.
In its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa, the government authorized the committee to form an assistant technical team provided that representatives of the concerned civil society organizations to be involved in the team.
The formation of the committee came after discussing a report of the Human right minister report on the institutional and legal frameworks and the measures required to form the authority.
The establishment of authority is in pursuance to the recommendations of the Human Rights Council (HRC) to establish such authority in accordance with the Paris Principles.
