President Hadi meets Socialist International secretary-general
[19/March/2012]

SANA'A, March 19 (Saba) - President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi met here on Monday with secretary-general of the Socialist International Luis Ayala.

During the meeting, Hadi reviewed the developments in the country since the outbreak of the crisis in 2011 as well as its repercussions on the political, economic and security areas.

The president said that many challenges have been tackled so far based on the Gulf initiative and UN resolution 2014, including the presidential election, stressing that all the political powers in Yemen have to pave the way for realizing the desired goals of the transitional period, topped by the national dialogue.

For his part, the Socialist International's secretary-general said that the visit aimed to express the organization's support for Yemen, extending congratulations on the success of the early presidential election held in February in Yemen.

Ayala hailed the efforts president Hadi has made to put an end to the crisis and overcome all problems and challenges, saying that the historic political settlement reached in Yemen represented a good model in the region.
