IDPs situation in Yemen discussed

SANA'A, Aug. 09 (Saba) - Yemen and the relief international organizations working in the country discussed here on Tuesday the situation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Abyan, Sa'ada, Amran and Sana'a provinces.

This came in the periodic meeting chaired by the Public Health and Population Minister Abdul-Karim Rase'a and Minister of Parliament and Shura Councils' Affairs and head of the Executive Unit for Displaced Camps Management Ahmed al-Kuhlani.

During the meeting, al-Kuhlani reviewed the situations of IDPs of Abyan province, whose number reaches 100,000 people.

He indicated to the IDPs' problem of being sheltered in schools of Abyan and Aden provinces and the necessity of solving shelter problem before the school year's beginning next September.

The meeting touched on the mechanism of food distribution in all affected areas owing to the current circumstances in the country, in addition to a report on the IDPs health situation.
