Attempt to smuggle 60 Ethiopians into Saudi Arabia frustrated
[21/January/2011]

HAJJAH, Jan. 21 (Saba)- Yemen's security services have frustrated a new attempt to smuggle 60 Ethiopian children, aged between 8 and 17 years, into the Saudi territories.

Interior Ministry said on Friday in a statement that its security services in the northern province of Hajjah had taken the Ethiopians in a temporary center for child care and protection in the province.

It added the procedures are being underway to arrange the deportation of the Ethiopian children in cooperation with a representative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the country.
