SANA’A, Jan. 16 (Saba) - Activities of the Syrian-Yemeni Cultural Heritage Week have started at the University of Sana’a.
The event aims at enhancing the cultural cooperation between the two countries and showing the common cultural peculiarities between the two brotherly people.
Vice-Rector of the University of Sanaa for Students' Affairs Ahmed Basrda stressed during the opening ceremony, attended by Syria's Ambassador to Yemen Abdul Ghafoor al-Sabouny, the importance of such activities to shed lights on the similar cultural characteristics between Arab countries.
Basrda said the university is satisfied with the cooperation with the Syrian Arab Cultural Center in holding this event.
For his part, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Sanaa Hassan al-Kahlani considered that the importance of the heritage week lies in boosting the Arab and national values.
After the opening ceremony, Rector of Sanaa University and Ambassador al- Sabouny inaugurated the Exhibition of the Popular Heritage of both countries.
The Exhibition includes 84 paintings and shows representing the participation of the Syrian side, and introducing many Syrian historical and archeological sites, in addition to some samples of Syrian traditional costume.
