Yemeni forces kill 3 al-Qaeda members, provincial official says
[19/September/2010]
SHABWA, Sep. 19 (Saba)- Three al-Qaeda suspects were killed and others wounded in clashes with the Yemeni anti-terrorism forces in al-Huta district, eastern Yemen, Shabwa governor Ali al-Ahmadi said on Sunday.

‘’The security forces are imposing a blockade on al-Qaeda cells which had hided at a village in al-Huta’’, he was quoted by the state-run al-motamar.net.

The provincial official pointed out that Arab terrorists were among al-Qaeda elements in the district, adding the security services were told last August that those al-Qaeda cells started to build barricades in a mountain village.

‘’The Yemeni counterterrorist forces surrounded the terrorist groups and took place confrontations, killing three terrorists and injuring others’’, al-Ahmdi said.

‘’The forces were able to evacuate the citizens and imposed a blockade to eliminate those terrorist elements’’, he added.

Al-Ahmdi revealed a Yemeni soldier was wounded in the confrontations.
