[04/September/2010] Yemen, GTZ discuss 2 mln euro technical education project

SANA'A, Sep. 04 (Saba)- Yemen and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) discussed on Saturday the stages of the implementation of a 2 million euro project of technical education system improvement funded by Germany.

During their meeting held in Sana'a, Technical Education and Vocational Training Minister Ibrahim Hajjeri and a delegation of the GTZ discussed potentialities to open an office for the project in the Ministry's headquarters.

They also reviewed the possibilities to set up a center in Aden for the supervision of the implementation of the agreement which has been signed last May by the ministry and GTZ.

The project includes improving the quality and efficiency of labor market outputs and the participation of women in technical education and vocational training.

GTZ has implemented many different projects since 1969 in most of Yemeni provinces. GTZ activities in the country are currently concentrated on the following priority areas: water and General Education.
