Over 60 investment projects licensed in AFZ worth $ 525 mln

ADEN, Sep.04 (Saba)- The Aden Free Zone (AFZ) has licensed 61 investment projects at a total cost of UAD 525 million during June 2009- June 2010.

A statistical report issued by the AFZ, Saba got a copy of it, revealed that the project, would provide 5,470 job opportunities.

The report pointed out that the licensed projects were distributed to 15 industrial projects, 10 storage projects, seven trade projects, six tourist projects, 18 service projects, four housing projects, and a project for the development of the projects infrastructure.

The projects being under implementation of the projects above amounted to 46 investment projects at a cost of USD 224.9 million and provided about 2,148 jobs for Yemeni skilled labor.

The report pointed out that the number of agreements and memoranda of understanding signed by the AFZ with local and foreign private sector companies during the same period, amounted to 17 agreements, while the total number of land lease contracts reaches 43 contracts for the AFZ's lands.
