Industrial sector records US$10.6 bln added value

SANA'A, Sep. 03 (Saba)- The added value of the Yemeni industrial sector has increased to US$10.6 billion in 2008, up from US$8.6 billion in the previous year, a 23 per cent rise.

A recently issued report by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) showed that the mining industries sector in Yemen contributes an average 30.7 per cent of the GDP annually.

The AIDMA added that the manufacturing industries sector in Yemen contributes an average 8.5 per cent of the GDP annually.
