VP meets WB's official on sustainable development

SANA'A, Aug. 31 (Saba) - Vice President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi received here on Tuesday the Deputy Director of World Bank (WB) office in Yemen and officer of Sustainable Development for Middle East and North Africa Josephine Milana.

During the meeting, Hadi and Milana discussed the possible assistance offered by the WB to Yemen in the agricultural sector, especially in area of reduction the cultivation of Qat tree.

They also talked about the importance of encouraging farmers to grow cash crops as a substitute for Qat tree such as fruits which provide appropriate economic returns.

Hadi confirmed the importance of WB's assistance for the programs that encourage the formers to grow alternative crops, appreciating the WB's aid for Yemen in different fields.
