Yemen, WB discuss Fifth Fish Project implementation

SANA'A, March 22 (Saba) - Yemen and World Bank (WB) discussed here on Monday the implantation progress of the WB-EU-funded Fifth Fish project worth $35 million.

Minister of Fisheries Wealth Mohammad Shamlan and WB Rural Development, Water and Development officer Naji Abu Hatim held talks on procedures pertaining to the handover and management mechanism of the completed facilities and projects under the Fifth Fish Project to the ministry including ice plants and stores.

The ministry is to prepare a mechanism to run that facilities based on the market mechanism via opening competition for operators, the minister said.

The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of the visit of Mahrah governor Salem al-Khanbashi along with fish sector delegation to China to get acquainted with Chinese experience in fishing and aquaculture in addition to study how to avail from.
