BEIRUT, March 19 (Saba) -- A Lebanese military judge on Friday filed a law suit against four Lebanese citizens, accusing them of spying for Israel, Chinese News Agency (Xinhua) reported on Friday.

According to the report, the Lebanese Government Commissioner before the Military Court Judge Sakr Sakr "filed a lawsuit against the detained Bassam Jamil Yassin for collaboration with Israel and giving information on civilian and military sites."

It added that Sakr "took legal action against detained Moussa Ali Moussa and fugitives Ali Muhammad Saiid and Hassan Hussein Abdallah with various surveillance activities for Israel's benefit. "

They were also accused of "giving information on locations, houses and car plates belonging to some Hezbollah officials," referring to the Shiite armed group that fought a devastating war with Israel in 2006.

The case was referred to Military Investigating Magistrate Judge Riad Abou Ghida.

In February, Lebanese military prosecutor Samih el-Hajj indicted eight Lebanese on the charge of spying for Israel, demanding death penalty for two of the eight suspects.

Two high-ranking Lebanese army officers were detained last year on charges of spying for Israel, while over 20 people were also arrested on charges of being affiliated to the Israel-linked spying networks.

Lebanon complains of Israel carrying out reconnaissance flights over Lebanon almost on a daily basis. A large Israeli-linked spying network was uncovered by the Lebanese security last May.
