Arab Parliament calls for adopting Yemeni initiative on joint Arab action
[19/March/2010]

DAMASCUS, March 19 (Saba) – The Arab Parliament renewed on Friday its support to Yemen's unit, rejecting any prejudice to it.

In its first round held in the Syrian capital, the Parliament called on Arab leaders to adopt the Yemeni initiative for activating the joint Arab action during their upcoming Summit to be held in Libya.

Speaking to Saba, Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament Abdul-Wahid
Al-Zindani said that the Arab Parliament had reviewed the Yemeni initiative, considering that this initiative was responsive to the aspirations and interests of the Arab nation.

Al-Zindani, who is also a member of the Yemeni Parliament, noted that a delegation of the Arab Parliament had asked Arab League Secretary General Amr Musa to include the Yemeni initiative into the agenda of the Arab Summit.

"A delegation of the Arab Parliament also delivered the Yemeni initiative to Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi last week", said he.
