KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Saba) -- The Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Philippines Badr Al-Houti affirmed the State of Kuwait is following up with concern on the continuous Israeli aggression targeting the brotherly Palestinian people, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Friday.
Al-Houti, who made the statement in his capacity as representative of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah at the recent meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, hosted by the Philippines capital, Manila, condemned the blatant Israeli attacks targeting Islamic sanctities.
Israel's inclusion of Al-Ibrahimi Mosque, Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque and fences of the old sector of the holy city of Jerusalem into the list of Jewish heritage signalled its disrepsect of sentiments of the Muslim nation, he said in his address to the conference, held on March 16-18.
He called for global efforts to tackle serious problems such as terrorism, narcotics, racial discrimination, fanaticism and hatred, and quoted the foreign minister as strongly condemning the criminal Israeli practices that constituted an insult to the international legitimacy and flagrant breach of various laws and a desecration of heavenly religions.
Al-Houti urged the member states of the organization to shoulder the historic responsibility "through examining closely the painful status and adopt serious and sincere dialogue among nations and peoples of diverse civilizations." The Manila-hosted conference was held under the theme, "religious dialogue and cooperation for sake of peace and development." It involved envoys and representatives of 105 states and associations.
