PM stresses importance of Arab City Day celebration

SANA'A, March 15 (Saba) – Prime Minister Ali Mujawar stressed on Monday the importance of celebrating the Arab City Day.

He considered the celebration an annual evaluation station, through which the cities' officials could conduct a quick and integral review on the reality of development and what has been achieved in the various local development areas as well as diagnosing of difficulties and identifying priorities to face the challenges of development.

"I have a pleasure to participate in this event, …which came amid achievements and growing challenges experienced by our Arab cities in general and Yemeni cities in particular", said Mujawar.

He pointed out that those cities which have become key centers of socioeconomic power and a key driver of development and destinations of job and living stability seekers from the different rural areas, a matter which increase the development, service and security challenges in Yemen.

The premier noted that this occasion is an opportunity to continue efforts to enhance the local economies of the Yemeni cities, so as to improve the standards of living, service and entertainment of the residents and to promote the cities' culture role, and is an engine of productivity and a developer of the national capitals through the investment gate and the various economic activities.

Yemeni cities celebrate the occasion of Arab City Day with other Arab cities on March 15.
