Yemen, AFD discuss cooperation program

SANA'A, March 15 (Saba) – Yemen and the French Agency for International Development (AFD) discussed here on Monday details of the cooperation program between Yemen and the agency in the areas of electricity ,energy and environment.

During the meeting of the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi and the AFD's mission, the two sides dealt with the directions of the joint cooperation between Yemen and the agency for 2011-2012, so as to meet the priorities of development and the challenges faced by Yemen.

At the meeting, al-Arhabi affirmed the importance of resuming the soft loans program of the agency in order to contribute to financing of the infrastructure projects, particularly the areas of electricity and rural water.

He noted the contributions of the French agency to support the development process in Yemen, confirming Yemen's interest to develop areas of cooperation with the agency.

The AFD's mission confirmed the agency's keenness to boost the current and future cooperation with Yemen.
