Interior Minister flies to Tunisia

SANA'A, March 15 (Saba) – Interior Minister Mutahar Rashad al-Masri headed on Monday for Tunisia's capital, Tunis, for the 27th round of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council that takes place next Tuesday.

Upon departure, the minister said the meeting will discuss the annual reports on the implementation of the 6th Arab security plan and the 4th Arab media plan to raise awareness about security and preventing crime.

The third phase of Arab traffic safety strategy, the fourth stage of the Arab counterterrorism strategy, the first stage of the Arab civil defense strategy and the fifth stage of the Arab strategy for fighting money laundering, drugs and mental stimuli would be discussed as well, he said.

The ministers will, furthermore, review reports on the activities and recommendations of the meetings organized by the secretariat capital of the council during 2009 in addition to reports on the meetings with the Arab League and other security challenges, al-Masri added.

On the margins of the round, the minister will meet with Saudi Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz, second deputy prime minister, to sign an agreement on security cooperation between the two neighbors.
