GPA launches first journalism course in Yemen

SANA'A, March 13 (Saba)- The Gulf Press Association (GPA), in collaboration with Al-Thwara Daily, launched on Saturday a training course on the coverage of crises and conflicts with 37 participants from various official media .

At the opening of the course, GPA General Secretary Naser al-Othman said the course is aiming to develop journalistic skills for employeesin newspapers and providing knowledge and skills in the fields of press and media.

Al-Othman pointed out to the importance of credible commitment methods of journalists in the transfer of information and verifying their validity and sources, taking into account the precision in the use of terminology in all fields: political, social, economic, sport, art, and others.

He said this course is the first one organized by GPA in Yemen and will be followed by subsequent sessions covering different issues in journalism.
