Al-Sayer: Kuwait succeeded in its anti-swine flu campaign
[11/March/2010]
CAIRO, March 11 (Saba) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Musaed Al-Sayer asserted here Thursday that his country succeeded in implementing the plan for fighting the swine flu through forming a supreme committee with representatives from all concerned ministries, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) has reported.

Al-Sayer made this remark in a press statement at the close of the 34th session of the council of the Arab health ministers in which he led the Kuwaiti delegation here at the Arab League headquarters.
He also said that the state of Kuwait has provided its citizens with all necessary drugs, noting that the ministry of health devised a plan for fighting H1N1 virus, better known as the swine flu.

On the meetings of the Arab ministers of health, Al-Sayer said that the ministers discussed a number of the joint Arab action issues in the field of health, adding that they also approved the final account report of the Arab fund for health development.

Further, the Arab ministers denounced at the end of their meetings here the Israeli measures and the attacks launched by the Jewish settlers against the holy places, especially the Al-Aqsa mosque and Al-Khalil mosque.

Finally, assistant secretary general of the social affairs amb. Sima Bahouth said that ministers discussed the health conditions in the occupied territories in light of the presentation made by the Palestinian minister of health Dr. Fathi Abu Maghli and so they decided to offer a subsidy to the Palestinian ministry of health amounting to USD 100 thousand.
