Yemen Germany discuss € 2 mln technical education grant

SANA'A, March. 10 (Saba) - Yemen and German discussed on Wednesday a grant of € 2 million from the German government to implement a project of technical education and vocational training in Yemen.

Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Ibrahim Hajri held talks with the officer of Developmental Cooperation in the German embassy Stifany Scharf on the components of the project, which would focus on building the ministry's institutional capacities.

The project aims also at training trainers and upgrading the abilities of the technical and vocational institutes' managers throughout the country in addition to supporting the girl education and training programs.

Hajri affirmed the importance of improving the outputs of the technical education and vocational training, hailing the support of the German government to Yemen in this field.

For her part, the German officer voiced readiness to begin the practical steps to implement the project of supporting the technical education after signing the agreement with the ministry by the end of March.
