UK, Qatari companies to qualify Yemeni labor for Gulf market

SANA'A, March 03 (Saba)- Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Ibrahim Omar Hajri held Wednesday a meeting with representatives of a British consulting company and the Qatar's Silatech Institution representative in Yemen in Mohammed al-Maitami.

The talks dealt with mechanisms of preparing a study to support the project of training and rehabilitation of the Yemeni labor to meet the needs of the Gulf market.

During the meeting, they discussed the importance of providing training for the Yemeni labor to meet the needs of the Gulf market through the support of Qatari Silatech Institution to implement the training and rehabilitation program in a according to necessities of local and Gulf markets.

The meeting also dealt with the Silatech initiative which is aiming to creating a national youth employment by providing the joint relation between employees and employers and encourage them to implement their own business projects.

They affirmed that the Silatech Institution is currently preparing preliminary studies on the possibility of providing specialized centers in different provinces to implement training programs
to employ outputs of the technical and vocational education to compete in the Gulf market.

The minister affirmed the ministry's keenness to provide all necessary facilities to help establish these training program.
