Yemen receives prize on Bab Al-Yemen Gate décor

SANA'A, March 02 (Saba)- Tourism Promotion Council (TPC) awarded on Tuesday a prize for the best décor and pavilion of the famous gate of Bab Al-Yemen with its history which is dated back to more than a thousand years.

In a statement to Saba, TPC Marketing Officer Saaed al-Tohami said the award received during the participation in the course of the Eastern Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism which was held in Istanbul (EMITT) 2010 from 11 until 14 February.

He said Yemen's participation in the exhibition was among 58 countries, including 8 Arab countries (Yemen, Tunisia Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon and Dubai), affirming that Yemen's pavilion had already been everyone's admiration.

Al-Tohami pointed out that the Minister of Tourism Nabil al-Faqih met, on the sidelines of the participation, with many representatives of tourism companies in Turkey and agreed with the main Turkish television to provide specialized programs for documentary filming in Yemen and documentaries on the history, culture and tourism of Yemen to bebroadcast in Turkey.
