European tourist companies praise Yemen counterterrorism efforts

MILAN, Feb. 20 (Saba)- Officials and representatives of a number of Italian and European companies and agencies praised on Saturday efforts of the Yemeni government exerted in reinforcing security and stability pillars as well as combating terror to ensure the minimum level of terrorist operations targeting tourist activities in Yemen.

During their meeting with officials of Yemeni tourist agencies and companies, participating in ITB in Milan, they pointed out to the importance of continuing such efforts to settle security and stability in the country as well as preparing a suitable environment to attract more investment in different fields, specially in tourism.

They said that the successful strong attacks by the Yemeni counterturns forces were followed up closely by the European tourist companies and agencies which encourage them to send more tourist convoys.

They also affirmed the importance of tourism for Yemen as a source for supporting the Yemeni economy to come out from the current crisis the country is struggling with.
