CDPF organizes workshop on women's access to Parliament

SANA'A, Feb.14 (Saba)- The Cultural Development Program Foundation (CDPF) in collaboration with European Union will be organizing next Monday a workshop on women's support to access the Parliament in Mahrah province for 22 trainees and will last for three days.

In a statement to Saba, CDPF chairwomen Raufa Hassan said the workshop will focus on educating female candidates in the province during the next period and will raise awareness of their electoral rights.

Hassan pointed out that the set program comes within democracy and human rights program implemented by CDPF in each of Sana'a,Dhamar, Mukalla, Taiz, Hodeidah, Mahrah, Ibb and Hajjah by the Women Advocacy Network.

It is worth to mention that CDPF was established in 2007 to gather all concerned sides of the political and civil society organizations to ensure the success of women in the parliamentary elections in 2011 to be able to amend the constitution, the election law and the election law of parties as well as getting enough support for the nomination of women in different regions.
