Trade minister opens workshop over conformity certificate of cars

SANA'A, Feb. 09 (Saba)- Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakel opened on Tuesday a workshop over ratification on conformity certificate of cars and wheels.

The workshop is organized by the Yemeni standardization and measures authority and Standardization Organization of Gulf Cooperation Council.

In the opening session of the workshop, al-Mutawakel said that the GCC decision to join Yemen with the GCC standardization organization reflected strong bilateral relations between Yemen and the GCC countries, highlighting cooperation between the Yemeni and GCC standardization organizations.

He pointed out to the concern of the Yemeni government to strengthen its strategic partnership with the GCC countries.

For his part, the visiting the Secretary General of GCC Standardization Organization Anwar al-Abdullah said that the accession of Yemen into the GCC standardization organization would be additional support for cooperation in field of standardization, reviewing achievement of the GCC organization since its establishment in 2004.
