Lebanese authorities recover bodies of passengers of sunken Ethiopian plane
[07/February/2010]

BEIRUT, Feb 7 (Saba) -- Lebanese army seals on Sunday recovered bodies of the victims of the sunken Ethiopian plane, after they located key parts of the plane and its black box.
The Lebanese army said in a statement that they recovered two bodies so far, and that the search was still continuing, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Lebanese navy seals, in collaboration with the French group, and specialized US Ocean Alert and USS Rabaul ships were able to lift the rear wing of the plane that was found three kilometers near the coast side of southern Beirut.

For his part, Lebanese Health Minister Mohammed Jawad Khalifeh said all measures were taken to contain the bodies of victims at Rafik Hariri government hospital.
He added that the next phase was collecting DNA from bodies.

The plane was carrying 90 passengers, of which 54 were Lebanese. The bodies of 29 victims were recovered earlier.
