SANA'A, Jan. 18 (Saba) - The Yemeni-Egyptian Joint Fisheries Committee signed Monday the minutes of its 10th round held in Sana'a during the period 17-18 January.
The minutes, which was signed by Deputy Minister of Fisheries Wealth Abdullah Ba-Sonbol and chairman of the General Authority for Fish Resources Development (GAFRD) Mohammed Othman, included the establishment of a Yemeni-Egyptian joint company in the fishery industry.
The two sides, in the presence of Minister of Fisheries Mohammad Shamlan, also agreed on forming a governmental and the private committee from the two countries in order to follow up the implementation of the company's establishment terms.
They consented to the continuation of workers training in fishery areas on new ways of fishing according to the cooperation protocol signed by the Ministry of Fisheries Wealth and the GAFRD in 2007 as well as the allocation of scholarships for Yemeni cadres at GAFRD's center.
The committee also approved the activation of 2007 GAFRD's protocol signed by the Marine Sciences Research General Authority and the Egyptian Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF) which is related to scientific researches fields and visits exchange to get acquainted
with the two countries' experiences in fisheries areas.
