S. Korea supports Yemen to join WTO

SANA'A, Jan. 06 (Saba) - Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakel held talks on Wednesday with the South Korean ambassador to Sana'a over the ongoing bilateral negotiations between the two countries for the sake of Yemen's joining to World Trade Organization (WTO).

The two sides discussed bilateral offers relating to entering international markets in agricultural and non-agricultural goods as well as possibilities of Korea's contribution to developing industrial sector in Yemen.

Al-Mutawakel confirmed the importance of dealing with Yemen with more flexibility suitable with its economical and developmental capability considering it a least developed country.

He noted the importance of following up recommendations and decisions of the General Assembly of WTO which call members of WTO to facilitate the accession of least developed countries,including Yemen.

On his part, the Korean ambassador showed his country's readiness to support Yemen to join the WTO.
