Yemen, Algeria discuss cooperation in oil, gas fields

SANA'A, Dec. 30 (Saba) - Yemen and Algeria discussed here on Wednesday bilateral cooperation relations between them in oil, gas and minerals areas and ways of enhancing them.

During his meeting with the Algerian ambassador to Yemen Abdul Wahab Bu Zaher, Minister of Oil and Minerals Amir Salim al-Aydarus invited the Algerian Oil Minister to visit Yemen for developing the two countries' bilateral cooperation relations' level in oil, gas and minerals fields as well as to exchange experiences between the two sides.

Al-Aydarus also called the Algerian investors as well as investing companies to invest in Yemen for having advantages and promoting investment opportunities for them.

He also noted that Yemen possesses a petroleum map which includes 100 oil
sectors in which only 20% of them has been exploited, in addition to various minerals.

Yemen took the first steps towards exporting gas and minerals, seeking to develop its experiences in these fields through benefiting from Algeria's experience, the Minister added.
