Shawthab calls to stop recruitment of children in fighting

SANA'A, Nov. 22 (Saba) - The Shawthab Foundation for Childhood and Development called on Sunday parts of conflict to stop recruitment of children under 18 years in the fighting.

In a press conference held in Sana'a, the director of the foundation Lamya al Eryani said the foundation has worked to raise awareness among society about importance of children protection in time of war.

Al Eryani added that the foundation has started implementation of a program over importance of offering protection for children in war time since one month ago at al-Mazrak camp for displaced people in Harad district in cooperation with the UNICEF.

Some kids from Saada province talked about their suffering and stories in which they said gang of rebellion had enforced them to fight with them against the state.

In the conference, the representatives of international organizations in Yemen called to prevent use of children by al-Houthi rebels in war and act of vandalism.
