Shoura chairman back home
[21/November/2009]

SANA'A, Nov. 21 (Saba)- Chairman of the Shoura Council Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Ghani returned on Saturday to Sana'a following his participation, on top of a Yemeni delegation, in the World Summit on Food Security which was held at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) headquarters.

Abdul-Ghani reviewed, in his speech, Yemeni vision with regards to the international effort to achieve food security and bridging the food gap as well as the better functioning of available resources in presenting direct aid to the agricultural sector in the poor countries.

He emphasized the importance of developed countries to transfer knowledge and technology to the poor countries to contribute to diversifying their economic resources and make available their basic requirements of food by their own resources.

Shoura Chairman also took part earlier in the 4th conference of the Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA) which took place in Morocco during 12-13 November.
