Yemeni-Omani trade exchange increased to %800
[17/November/2009]

SANA'A, Nov. 17 (Saba) - The trade exchange between Yemen and Oman increased up to %800 during the 1990s.

In a statement to Saba, the Omani ambassador to Yemen Abdullah Ben Hamad al-Badi indicated that this increase included $182.1 million Omani exports to Yemen and $24.4 million Yemeni exports to Oman, adding that the trade exchange between the two countries increased in 2008 to $95 million.

"Cooperation between the two countries for many years resulted in establishing al-Mazyona zone for free trade and setting up land, air and marine roads among them as well as opening the new trips between Sana'a to Salalah by Alsaeda Airways company aiming at boosting the brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries, "al-Badi said.

"The Omani-Yemeni relations witnessed a progress as they held the 9th joint Omani-Yemeni ministerial committee meetings in February in which the two countries signed three cooperation agreements in transport, technical education and vocational training," he pointed out.
