Amran meeting on war refugees

AMRAN, Nov. 07 (Saba) – A meeting was held on Saturday in Amran province that discussed the process of aid delivery for the refugees as the army continues to battle the Houthi insurgents in Saada and Amran.

The meeting brought together Amran Local Council Secretary General, head of the national relief committee and deputy Amran governor, aid agencies and civil society organizations.

Ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the authorities and aid agencies and civil society organizations were highlighted as well.

During the meeting, a report on field visits by representatives of aid agencies and civil society organizations to the Khaiwan refugee camp in Amran to assess services offered for the displaced and the contribution of women to help female refugees was presented by relief coordinator.

At the end, the meeting stressed the importance of finalizing the preparation of the camp, hailing already exerted efforts to cope with the needs and numbers of refugees.
