Yemen to partake in GCC Labor, Social Ministers Council meeting

SANA'A, Nov. 07 (Saba) - Yemen is to take part in the 26th meeting of Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which kicks off in Oman, Muscat, on Saturday.

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Amat al-Razaq Humad said that the meetings would focus on issues related to labour and labourers, such as a unified guideline bylaw of health and occupational safety in the GCC states and Yemen and a unified guideline bylaw of people with special needs' rights as well as studying insurance systems and social assistance in GCC states.

At the meeting a number of experiences will be reviewed in addition to awarding a number of private companies including two Yemeni companies for their efforts in replacing Yemeni employment instead of foreign workers, she added.

The Minister also said that the Yemeni delegation would hold talks with officials of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Oman over the bilateral cooperation in areas of handicapped people, child and orphans care in addition to signing a memo of understanding to boost social cooperation between the two countries.
