SANA'A, Nov. 06 (Saba) - The Supreme Security Committee (SSC) has accused Yemeni opposition of involvement with al-Houthi rebellion and separatists in some southern governorates.

A source in the SSC said that the Joint Meeting Parties (JMPs) are engaged publicly in support with the rebels and separatists and justify all their sabotage acts that target the nation's security and stability.

Meantime, the army is continuing its military operations against the Houthi followers that started in early August.

Many areas have been cleansed of the insurgents, with many of the rebels surrendering and others arrested in Saada governorate, which is located close to border with Saudi Arabia.

The rebel group was founded by rebel leader Hussein al-Houthi.

Hussein, the eldest brother of the current group leader Abdul-Malik, was killed by the army in September 2004.

The Yemeni government accuses the Houthi group of trying to reinstall the rule of imams, which was toppled by a republican revolution in northern Yemen in 1962.
