Cabinet approves timetable program for aid-funded projects execution

SANA'A, Nov.03 (Saba) - In its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, the cabinet approved the timetable program for executing the projects financed by foreign aid and grants in sectors of public health and population, fisheries and justice.

The cabinet's decision comes in light of the technical committee report at Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the three parts in charge of reviewing and assessing the work progress in the externally financed projects for 2008 and the first quarter of the current year.

The program included the different technical and executive procedures relating to those projects with the time period for each executive procedure.

The report noted the progress achieved in the public health sector projects which used a total ratio from their finance value ranged between 98 per cent and 64 per cent.

The other projects were distributed to fisheries sector and coastguard forces development field.

The cabinet affirmed on enhancing the civil defense capabilities, directing Interior Ministry to coordinate with Planning Ministry to provide the necessary finance for strengthening abilities of the coastguard forces and civil defense.

Furthermore, the cabinet got acquainted with the report of Minister of Public Works and Roads on the work progress in Dhamar – al-Husseniah road project, approving forming a committee to tackle the current problems hindering the project completion.
