Yemen, IMF talk on transport sector development

SANA'A, Oct.26 (Saba) - Minister of Transport Khalid al-Wazir discussed here on Monday with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)'s delegation future plans for developing transport sector in Yemen.

The IMF's delegation was briefed by al-Wazir on the underway works to prepare Yemen ports strategy and strategies of air and land transport as well as the partnership with the private sector in most of transport activities.

Al-Wazir reviewed the measures taken by Ministry of Transport to reform all transport sectors and establishment of the General Authority for Land Transport Affairs as well as reconstructing Yemeni ports and land transport enterprises.

In the meeting, the two sides dealt with the procedures related to goods and passengers transportation and the taken actions to improve it.
