Yemen, ICRC inaugurate orthopedic center

ADEN, Oct. 26 (Saba)- General Secretary of Aden Local Council Abdul Kareem al-Shaief inaugurated on Sunday an orthopedic center in Al Mansoura district granted by the International Committee for the Red Cross.

At the opening ceremony, ICRC Head Jean Nicholas Marti briefed the departments of the center, components of prosthetic workshop which supports victims of mines, accidents and crippling brain.

Al-Shaief pointed out the orthopedic center is one of the pilot centers to assist people of special needs and rehabilitate them to rely on themselves, affirming the support of local council to remove any difficulties the disable people .

For his part, ICRC head delegation in Yemen reviewed orthopedic center's role in providing necessary services for those people coming to the center, pointing out to the importance of the center to rehabilitee its cadres by international experts and receive 800 cases from different governorates and praised exerted efforts made by the local authority and the Disable People Fund to provide the operational budget of the center.
