Industry Minster flies to Egypt

SANA'A, Sept. 01 (Saba) - Industry and Trade Minister Yahya al-Mutwakill left Tuesday for Egypt to take part in the 84th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States which will be held in Cairo on 3-5 September.

"The meetings of the 84th session will discuss several issues, telecommunications, tourism, agriculture and waters", al-Mutwakil said.

The Yemeni minister said to Saba that an extraordinary meeting of Arab Economic Council would be held next Wednesday to discuss the reconstruction of the economic council in order to strengthen its role in the next phase.

The Minister added that Yemen had suggested to complete the reconstruction in consideration of combining the Economic Council into the Council of Arab Economic Unity due to overlapping in their specialties and functions.

"There are some suggestions to set up a council of developing Arab states in the framework of the Arab League in order to support their economic and take care their development conditions", al-Mutawakel added.
