Saleh gets Bahrain consolation upon jetliner crash
[03/July/2009]

SANA'A, July 03 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received Friday a consolation cable from Bahrain's Crown Prince Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa who expressed his sympathy to Saleh and all the Yemeni people for the victims of the Yemenia jet crash.

The Yemenia passenger jet, IY 626 flight, plunged into the Indian Ocean this week with 153 people including a crew of 11 onboard.

Only a 14-year-old French girl could survive the disaster, with few bodies recovered so far.

Search is continuing to find debris including the two black boxes as well as bodies, with further search instruments arriving at the crash site.

On Tuesday morning, the jetliner came down in bad weather after it took off from Sana'a on a trip which originated in France and aimed at the Republic of Comoros via Djibouti. Most of those onboard were French and Comorian nationals.

The crew members included six Yemenis, two Moroccans, an Indonesian, an Ethiopian and a Pilipino.
