Planning Ministry, WB to announce Yemen educational report
[03/July/2009]

SANA'A, July 03 (Saba)- The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in cooperation and the World Bank (WB) will announce results of the general report over "Current Situation of Education in Yemen" on Sunday during a workshop.

Deputy Planning Minister Mutahar al-Abbasi made clear to Saba that they will discuss, during the workshop, results of the report which covered basic, secondary, technical and vocational education as well as exchanging views with experts in order to come out with a unified vision to raise the educational process in Yemen and to achieve the millennium goals by 2015.

He noted that the report is considered as the first phase to prepare for the National Strategy for Unified Comprehensive Education in Yemen.

Al-Abbasi affirmed Yemen's lack of a joint and integral vision to treat challenges and troubles facing education, making clear that the report also discusses a number of core issues represented by qualitative aspects of education, skills and knowledge gained by students, and the overall pitfalls of education in the country.
