COMOROS, June 30 (Saba) – A Yemeni airliner with 142 passengers along with a crew of 11 onboard crashed early Tuesday in the Indian Ocean near the Moroni port of the Comorian capital.
A source at the Flight Safety Department at the Sana'a International Airport has said that the airbus A310-300 was en route from Yemen to the Comoros Republic and carrying French and Comorian people. The accident took place at 1:35 am, Moroni local time.
Preliminary reports blamed the crash on tough weather.
Rescuer teams have been sent to the crash site.
